Poetry
maybe someday, I'll smile
Maybe someday, I’ll smile
I’m drugged, smuggled in a world where reality seems like a planted bug.
Where everything is normal and nothing is sacred
Im digging my own grave and my hands can do no more in.
My skin feels like an old oak, crumbled up in smoke, waiting to disappear in the wind.
I feel fake; I can’t find anything real.
Everything has been taken and nothing is mine
I keep searching my imagination, but it seems I’ve lost my mind.
Seems I’ve lost touch. I wish I could push a button, make it easy, keep everything hush so I don’t make a scene.
Maybe I should take a pill, look at me I’’ve spilled the beans.
I’m home sick, but I’ve got nowhere to go.
I’m homeless, but I’ve got no home, stuck in a world with silence.
Where everybody speaks, but nobody really says a thing, echoes of broken dreams,
a violent past, just violet cheeks.
Like a violin with no strings, no sound not even a peep.
These days, I don’t grow. Ive been beaten down I cant even sleep.
I’m so close to the ground, I could kiss my feet.
I’m small and I got a short fuse. I about as tall as a mouse tying his shoes
Just on going sorrow built for no tomorrow, the beginning that never was, the end is not far away.
Maybe some day, I’ll smile just because…but not today.

Sometimes hope arrives as a quieter sentence than we expect.
